2007年4月にスタートしたTVアニメ『Over Drive』は、安田剛士による自転車ロードレースを舞台とした漫画が原作。
高校1年生になった篠崎ミコトは、ある日、中学時代から憧れていた深澤ゆきとふとした事から会話をする事になる。
そこでゆきに「自転車部に入らない？」と言われたミコト。
自転車に乗れないミコトは、自転車部が何なのか分からないまま夢中で自転車に乗る練習を始める。
苦難の末、初めて自転車で疾走した時、15年間くすぶりっぱなしのミコトの心で何かがはじけるのだった…!
内気で運動音痴の篠崎ミコトが、仲間やライバルと共に、挫折を繰り返しながらもロードレースの頂点を目指す、自転車青春ストーリー!!
